Some of the above cost £1000’s  and most are advertised by people who have perfect 6 or even 8 packs.

IT’S ALL BULL####

The only people that buy it are lazy people who want to believe that by doing 10 minutes on these waste of time bits of kit will make them have an amazing 6 pack….

PEOPLE LIKE ME!!!

Yes, I’ve tried them all. Spent so much money on them and did exactly what they said and NOTHING…. Well, maybe a little bit of toning at the top… but nothing like the claims made by these super fit magazine and TV models!

That’s why so much of this equipment lies in the garage collecting dust.

So, what makes ankle/wrist weights so much better?

You need to understand the science.

Abs are muscles, and I’m sure you all know how we make muscles bigger. That’s right

BY PUTTING THEM UNDER STRESS.

THE HEAVIER YOU LIFT THE BIGGER THE MUSCLE.

When you add ankle weights and do leg raises, these work directly on your lower stomach, the bit that’s the big problem for most. In fact, there are only a few big muscle groups forming the mid section. It’s easier to say upper, lower, sides and mid.

There are specific exercises that will work all of these.

How do we build muscles bigger?

Progressive increase - which means you start off with a smaller weight and focus on getting your technique correct. Basic things like extending your legs fully, holding at the point on tension, slowing the move etc. Secret moves that I know.

Utilising the most efficient exercises that focus on one of the muscle groups. Then moving onto another that will focus on another muscle group. By the end of the workout, you should have worked all the sections of the stomach, which will take more than 10 minutes.

You then add more weight, either by adjustable ankle/wrist weights or by buying another set and adding. With some exercises, if you have them at hand, then you can also use dumbbells for extra resistance.

The benefit of ankle/wrist weights is that they allow you full flexibility of movement. They are also at the end of your limbs, meaning they don’t have to be too heavy because they will act like levers.
