Meditate with Motion

MEDITATION THROUGH MOTION

LET ME TAKE YOU TO A EUPHORIC STATE

What is meditation?

The dictionary explains it as the act of giving your attention to only one thing.

I’ve practiced meditation for years. I've used certain mantras, various breathing techniques, sitting, lying, standing. I’ve tried first thing in the morning as well as last thing at night.

I’ve not reached any sense of nirvana or heightened state of being BUT I can now relax very quickly and be in a state of contentment.

During my meditation, I’m just a watcher. I watch everything going on around me, or if my eyes are closed then I’m aware of everything entering my mind. I try not to have an opinion, I just watch.

NOW….

Being involved in health and fitness world, I noticed that I got this same sense of euphoria during intense exercise. Not during gentle exercise like walking.

Imagine the following as vividly as possible.

You're on a running machine and just walking. While walking, thoughts enter your mind. All thoughts, good, bad, positive, negative etc.

The machine starts to speed up. Now you start to feel the pressure. You think “what’s going on, it’s too fast, stop it, slow it down”. Your other thoughts have now gone.

All of a sudden, the speed shoots up to maximum and the stop button disappears. Behind you, the gym floor disappears and a massive bottomless abyss opens up. There is no way of stopping. What do you do now?

Your only mission is to keep going. Your mind is totally absent of thought and your body takes over.

You don't think about that arguement you had yesterday or the tasks that you have to get done by tomorrow.

You don't think about what is happening in your favourite TV soap or the kids not doing their homework.

You don't think about the cleaning or shopping.

Your mind is non existent.

ALL YOU DO, IS BREATH AND RUN. SURVIVAL IS ALL THAT MATTERS.

That’s some serious, high level meditation.

This maybe extreme but I wanted to try and get you to experience the scenario. It's 100% true.

I feel the same high after intense exercise as I do when I meditate.

During intense exercise your body releases hormones called endorphins. These hormones lead to a deeply euphoric state.

So, I know, from my experience, that we can meditate through motion.

I do this with my online morning exercise group. We get into a relaxed state to begin with and then I guide you through a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout. You will soon learn to be aware of your meditative state.

All this in a half hour session.

If you would like to try a session for free, contact me at kirit.thakore@gmail.com

Come and join me at 6am. In half an hour you will feel that endorphin feeling
