There probably wasn’t a day.
No big announcement. No morning when one of you woke up and decided to stop making an effort.
It happened more quietly than that.
Life got busy.
Work. Children. Bills. Parents getting older. Shopping. Appointments. A house that always needed something doing.
And somewhere amongst all of that, the two of you became very good at running a life together.
But perhaps not quite so good at being together.

You still talk, but much of it is about what needs doing.
You still sit together, but perhaps you're both looking at different screens.
You still sleep in the same bed, but when did one of you last reach across simply because you wanted to touch the other?
The kisses became quicker.
The conversations became practical.
The little messages stopped.
Sex became less frequent, then perhaps something neither of you mentioned.
And the strange thing is, nothing may be terribly wrong.
You're not desperately unhappy.
But are you actually happy?
Sometimes relationships aren't damaged by one enormous event.
They're worn down by a thousand tiny absences.
The conversation you were too tired to have.
The hand you stopped reaching for.
The compliment you thought but didn't say.
The apology you were too proud to give.
None seems particularly important at the time.
But repeat something for long enough and it becomes normal.
Repeat normal for long enough and it becomes your life. That's one of the central ideas I explore in Reset Your Relationship Karma.

Maybe your relationship isn't quiet at all.
Maybe you argue.
Money. Housework. Sex. The children. Your phone. Work. Family.
Different subjects.
But somehow, the argument always feels familiar.
Because sometimes the argument isn't really about what you're arguing about.
Money can be about security.
Sex can be about feeling wanted.
Housework can be about respect.
A phone can be about attention.
Work can be about feeling unimportant.
Different argument. Same pattern.

And perhaps you've left relationships before, only to find yourself experiencing some of the same feelings with somebody completely different.
Different face.
Different personality.
Different circumstances.
Same feeling.
At some point, it's worth asking:
What if I don't only have a relationship problem?
What if I have a relationship pattern?
That's what I mean by relationship karma.
Not fate. Not punishment.
The patterns we inherit. The patterns we create. The patterns we tolerate. And, importantly, the patterns we can choose to change.
And it won't tell you to leave.
I don't know enough about your relationship to make that decision for you.
Some relationships need repairing.
Some need redefining.
Some may eventually need releasing.
But before deciding what needs to happen, perhaps there is a more important question:
Do I understand how we got here?
Because blaming your partner for everything changes nothing.
Blaming yourself for everything changes nothing either.
The real work is recognising what belongs to them, what belongs to you, and what the two of you may have created together without ever intending to.

You cannot change what happened.
You cannot make another human being change.
But you can recognise a pattern.
You can decide what you will no longer repeat.
And you can choose what happens next.
That's why I wrote Reset Your Relationship Karma.
Not to tell you who to love.
Not to tell you whether to stay or leave.
But to help you understand the patterns that brought you here and decide what you want your relationships to look like from here.
Because people rarely deliberately choose a life they don't want.
They arrive there slowly.
One compromise.
One silence.
One resentment.
One forgotten kiss.
One unspoken need.
One repeated pattern at a time.
If you've recognised your relationship, your arguments, or even yourself in these words, Reset Your Relationship Karmawill take you deeper.
Not to tell you what to do.
But to help you understand why the same patterns keep appearing, what part of them belongs to you, and what you can choose to do differently from here.
You can't change what happened.
But you can choose what happens next.
