What is your poop saying?

DO YOU POOP A LOT?

When you eat rubbish food, you will poop loads. If you eat rubbish food, that your body does not need or want, then rubbish comes out.

When you eat good food you will poop less. If you eat good food, that your body wants and needs, then the good stuff comes out, like energy, vibrancy and life.

BUT

If you eat too much, even good food then the body can only process so much and out it comes.

There are a number of ways to monitor your health. I’ve spoke many a times about how your weight is an excellent indicator of good health. People weigh themselves for the wrong reason and this makes many people fear the scales. Once it is used to monitor health, and you understand the importance of it, then it will become second nature.

Think about it. Even when you go into hospital, the first thing they will do is weigh you. To me, that says it’s very important.

In most instances, your body will tell you if something is wrong. Often, only when the condition gets pretty serious.

So, how do I know about this pooping business?

Well, I’ve always been regular when it comes down to my bathroom habits, I go like clockwork.

Over the years, I’ve kept to my natural bodyweight (this is the weight your genetic body works at optimum levels at) by eating “fairly clean”. I do this by exercising half an hour a day and eating fairly clean Monday to Friday.

Now, come the weekend, I’ll eat whatever I want and however much I want. In fact my Saturday starts with a big bowl of cereal consisting of weetabix, crunchy nut corn flakes and malties. Easily 500 to 1000 calories but hmmmmmm so good. Then would come a fry up brekky, fried chicken, samosas, lots of cakes and chocolate snacks. That’s just during the day. In the evening would be drinks and snacks (crisps, nuts etc), followed by a big home made meal or more often, a nice takeaway. Dessert would always end the night in style.

Sunday is not as good (I say good not bad lol, because it is so enjoyable, I love food). I would still eat plenty though as I knew that from Monday I would go back to my normal “better” eating regime.

So, what happens to my daily poop regime?

Well, Tuesday to Saturday (I always go in the morning), I go once, and in and out the loo within few minutes. No straining, not loads, no nasty aromas. Sorry if that sounds gross, but its just a natural process and a good way to assess your health.

Now, come Sunday morning, it’s a different story. I wake up with a bloated tummy and I go loads. I don’t just visit the bathroom once, but at least 2 or 3 times minimum.

If I’ve over eaten mainly good clean foods then I’m not attacked with a terrible aroma but If I have eaten processed foods or things like donner kebab, then nobody can use the bathroom for a long time after. As much as how horrible this sounds, the odour is a good indicator of good or bad quality foods.

You can liken it to a fire. Burn clean dry wood then there is hardly any smoke or smell. Use damp wood, plastics, rubber etc and then you will get dark, smelly smoke.

If you feed the fire with regular small amounts of good fuel then the fire will roar and be healthy (this is how I eat during the week, small regular “clean” meals).

If you feed the fire with too much fuel, even if it’s good fuel, then the fire struggles to burn (just like how we feel sluggish after big meal). If you feed the fuel with too much bad fuel, well, you know the result then.

If you over eat occasionally, like once or twice a week, it will not have any detrimental effect on your weight as you will poo most of it out. If you then watch what you eat during the other days, this will balance it out.

BUT

If you over eat regularly (and if you are finding you goto the loo a lot, you are over eating), then you will definitely gain weight.

So, the moral of this blog is let your poo guide you to better health.
